Additional info

Aoi Station was chosen as the CM song for Morinaga Confectionery's "HI-SOFT".

Yasushi Akimoto first chose the title "Change Memories" (思い出着替えて), but it was later changed to "Chelsea in the Wind" (風のチェルシー) because he "wanted to give it a French-like name". However, after deciding it would be used as the CM song for Morinaga's HI-SOFT, the title was changed a third time because they could not use the word Chelsea.

The pronounciation "stasion" was used because it sounds more French.

According to the lyrics, the station in the song doesn't refer to a subway station, but rather to a railway in France called a gare.

The station featured in the PV is Imida Station (今井田駅) from West Japan Railway's Kabe Line. The station was discontinued on January 12, 2003.

The single was used in episode 10 of Asahi TV's special effects drama "MASKED RIDER KIVA" (仮面ライダーキバ).

According to Oricon, Aoi Station is the single with the highest sales released by an Onyanko Club member while still enrolled. Eri Nitta's "Winter Opera Glass" (冬のオペラグラス) is second.

The single's first appearance on the Oricon chart was on March 31, 1986, the day of Sonoko's graduation from Onyanko Club.

Selling 137,280 copies in one week, Aoi Station was the single with the second-highest sales record in history.

The single also took the #2 spot for the highest second-week sales, with 111,310 copies sold. First place was Hiroko Yakushimaru's "Detective Story" (探偵物語).

Aoi Station and Detective Story stopped 少年隊 (Shonentai), who was extremely popular at the time, from winning the #1 and #2 spots with their single "Legend of Decameron" (デカメロン伝説).
